Biographical Information
"George has seventeen years experience in research and campaigning for environmental and indigenous rights organisations at all levels of the environmental movement. He played a major role in the development of UK grassroots direct action movement, has headed the forest campaigns for Greenpeace US and the Rainforest Foundation International, and has been a policy consultant to the German and Papua New Guinean governments. He has authored fifteen major reports and won nine awards for his video documentary work.
"Since 2000 George has worked exclusively on climate change - starting with the complete renovation of his own house (see www.theyellowhouse.org.uk ). He was one of the founders of Rising Tide, a national network of grassroots climate change campaign groups and is currently co-executive director of the Climate Outreach Information Network, a charitable trust which engages the general public about climate change ( www.coinet.org.uk). He has spoken and written widely on climate change issues and sustainable lifestyles including articles for The New Statesman, The Guardian, and The Ecologist."[1]
