The Global Catalyst Foundation "is a private foundation established by the principals of Global Catalyst Partners, a Silicon Valley venture capital firm. Its mission is to improve peoples' lives through the effective application of information technologies. The Foundation initiates and supports innovative projects worldwide to improve education, alleviate poverty, promote social tolerance and celebrate diversity." [1]
Two projects shown on their homepage are:
- The Gandhi Project - "Administered by Relief International-Schools Online in partnership with Palestinian NGOs and community based organizations".
- Kasulu and Mtabila Internet Project - "At Mtabila, a UNHCR camp for Burundi refugees in Tanzania, a GCF supported computer center offers general classes, distance learning, and ICDL courses to adults, teens, and children."
