The Global Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Conflict was formed in 2002 and "is an international network of civil society organisations working for conflict prevention and peacebuilding worldwide." [1]

"The Global Partnership is steered at the international level by an International Steering Group (ISG), which meets biannually. The ISG is composed of:
- all 15 Regional Initiators - the UN-NGO Conflict Prevention Working Group - the international secretariat, the European Centre for Conflict Prevention (ECCP) - Representatives from INGOs, Governments and the UN, which currently include: World Vision International, International Committee of the Red Cross, the Folke Bernadotte Academy and the World Federalist Movement-Institute for Global Policy
