Background
In July 2016 LNG-Gorskaya secured approval from Russia’s Federal Marine and River Transport Agency (Rosmorrechflot) for aproposed floating LNG venture near St Petersburg[1] Each of the three barges will have an annual capacity of 656m cubic meters for a total of 1.9 billion cubic meters of natural gas.[2] In June 2017 Gorskaya's CEO claimed the company had agreed to build floating bunkering stations and storage facilities at the Baltic ports that will be able to supply LNG-fueled vessels with mostly Russian LNG by 2020[3]
As of July 2019 there has been no further progress, and the project appears to be shelved.
