Background

Hainan LNG Terminal is an LNG import terminal in Hainan, China.[1]

The terminal project includes two storage tanks and receiving capacity of 3 mtpa. Qatargas delivered its first cargo of LNG in August of 2014.[2] [3]

Proposed Expansion

In August 2018 CNOOC announced that it planned to expand the terminal's capacity by 1.32 mtpa by October 2018.[4]
