Background

Hainan LNG Terminal is an LNG import terminal in Hainan, China.

The terminal project includes two storage tanks and receiving capacity of 3 mtpa. Qatargas delivered its first cargo of LNG in August of 2014.

Proposed Expansion

In August 2018 CNOOC announced that it planned to expand the terminal's capacity by 1.32 mtpa by October 2018.
