Background

Haldia LNG Terminal is an LNG terminal under development in West Bengal, India.[1]

In 2017, Essar Ports, part of the Essar Group, won the bid to build a future LNG regasification terminal in Haldia with a 1.0 mtpa receiving capacity. The Haldia LNG Terminal is expected to be completed in two years, or 2019.[2]

In January 2019 it was reported that construction would begin in Jun 2019 and be complete by the end of 2020, at a cost of 1,500 crore ($277 million).[3]
