Hartogshoop coal mine is a small coal mine in the Witbank coal field owned by Coal of Africa Limited (CoAL) located in the Limpopo Province.[1]
On its website CoAL states that "open cast mining commenced in December 2009 and has a steady state of production with a maximum capacity of 60,000 ROM tonnes per month. Hartogshoop is a 24-month contractor operation with the mining method being essentially Opencast Truck and Shovel Roll Over. The mining layout is a single boxcut of 600 metres in length."[1]
