Background

Hongkong GBS LNG Terminal (中电香港海上LNG接收站) is a proposed LNG import terminal in Hong Kong. Proponents report that if approved, the project would procure LNG from international markets in order to reduce dependence on mainland China.

In October 2018 the project received a permit from the Hong Kong's Environmental Protection Department.
