Background

Hongkong GBS LNG Terminal (中电香港海上LNG接收站) is a proposed LNG import terminal in Hong Kong. Proponents report that if approved, the project would procure LNG from international markets in order to reduce dependence on mainland China. [1]

In October 2018 the project received a permit from the Hong Kong's Environmental Protection Department.[2]
