International Conference on the Unity of the Sciences
Founded in 1972, the International Conference on the Unity of the Scienceswas founded by the Reverend Sun Myung Moon. [1]
The late Dr. Alexander King, President of the Club of Rome said that "ICUS is the only world occasion where scholars from diverse disciplines can come together and discuss mutual interactions in their work as a multidisciplinary attack on global problems". [1]
In 1986 King acted as a vice chair of the US conference where the ICF Founder's Award, which was last presented in 1982, was presented by Sun Myung Moon to Dr. Friedrich August von Hayek. Shortly before the conference Dr. Hayek was stricken ill with a bronchial infection and could not be present. His friend and biographer, Dr. William Bartley received the prize for him. [2]
