Jack Orchulli is considering running as a Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate seat in Connecticut in the 2006 congressional election. Currently, Alan Schlesinger is the only Republican challenger. [1]
Orchulli would face Ned Lamont, who defeated Democrat incumbent Senator Joseph I. Lieberman in the August 8, 2006, Democrat primary. Lieberman has announced that he will continue in the race as an Independent.
Orchulli is "the well-connected multi-millionaire and former partner of the fashion designer Michael Kors who ran and lost against Chris Dodd in the 2004 Senate race," Jason Horowitz wrote in the August 11, 2006, New York Observer.
