Biographical Information
"Jerry Millhon is currently the Executive Director of the Whidbey Institute. Prior to this appointment, he was Executive Director of the Foundation for Accelerated Vascular Research. He has also served as Director of the Fossil Rim Wildlife Center, Glen Rose, Texas, and as headmaster of various independent schools, both as interim and permanent head. In the 1980s, Mr. Millhon began a software support and development firm, serving both medical and fund-raising clients.
"Mr. Millhon has a personal interest in organizational dynamics (including leadership, board and governance roles) and strategic planning. For the last 20 years, he has been involved in organizations requiring “out of the box thinking” as they confronted the need to change. He has been drawn to serve organizations with mission focused on education, research, and/or science. In his work with the Vascular Research Foundation, Mr. Millhon helped redirect the focus of the foundation towards implementing highly focused, collaborative research projects to achieve outcomes more efficiently using a business model that encourages accelerated discovery."[1]
