Background

Jharupudi power station is a 140 megawatt (2 x 70 MW) coal plant reportedly proposed by Suryachakra Thermal Energy in Andhra Pradesh. It received a terms of reference from the India government in 2009.

However, this plant is not mentioned on the website for Suryachakra Group. The company has not applied for an environmental permit, and the project may have been abandoned.
