Background

Jindal Power flagged the project in its December 2009 prospectus as being under investigation.[1]

On its website, Jindal stated in March 2014 that a captive power plant with production capacity of 2640 MW is being planned in phases, and that the company is currently setting up a 1320 MW Captive Power Plant, along with a steel plant, at the town of Patratu.[2]

In August 2014, Jindal described the project as 1320 MW.[3][4]

Although Jindal reports progress on the Patratu steel plant,[4] there appear to be little news and no permits for the 1320 MW power station. Plans for the captive power station look to be deferred or abandoned.
