John Kirkham was with Threadneedle Asset Management, a British financial services firm.
BAT Industries (British American Tobacco Industries) owned insurance and financial services firms, as well as its tobacco business. It owned Farmers Group (BAT's U.S. insurance firm) as well as insurer Eagle Star, and the financial services firms of Allied Dunbar and Threadneedle Asset Management. In 1994, British American Tobacco (BAT) merged the investment operations of long-established insurance companies Eagle Star and Allied Dunbar to form the Threadneedle Group.[1][2]
