Biographical Information

"John became a member of the Audit Committee in 2006 and was appointed to the Board in 2007. In July 2008 he was appointed Chair of the reconstituted Risk and Audit Committee.

"John is now retired after a career in finance in the private sector, specialising especially in the financing of major capital projects. He was Group Treasurer and Director of Corporate Finance for George Wimpey plc and later Managing Director of Businesses, first at Wimpey and then at Tarmac which invested in projects under the Government’s Private Finance Initiative. For ten years from 1998, John ran a project advisory business focusing on PFI and PPP projects.

"John was on the Board of Housing21 for ten years, chairing their Finance and Development Committee, and for four years was a member of the Investment Committee of Futurebuilders-England, the government fund that provides loan finance to the third sector."
