John P. Freeman was a Professor of Business & Legal Ethics at the University of South Carolina Law School. He wasa a member of the Ohio and South Carolina Bars. Freeman specialized in teaching business courses and legal ethics. and taught legal ethics for 23 years at the University of South Carolina. He has written and lectured extensively on the topics of legal ethics and Attorney-client privilege. Served as a member of the South Carolina Bar Ethic's Advisory Committee.

Biography

John P. Freeman is familiar with lawyer disciplinary proceedings and has participated in litigation of same as both lawyer and expert witness. Freeman has brought and prosecuted civil RICO litigation, tried a RICO case to a jury in federal court and argued two civil RICO appeals before the Fourth Circuit. He has also participated in litigation as a lawyer in fraud cases, including cases raising issues of lawyer's complicity in fraud. He has written and lectured about RICO and has taught various courses relating to fraud and legal ethics, including a course on Business Crime covering RICO, mail fraud and wire fraud.(State of Florida's Proposed Plaintiff's Disclosure of Expert Witnesses, 2/5/97)
