Biographical Information
"Jonathan is the CEO and Co-Founder of Transterra Media. Before Transterra, Jonathan co-founded the Global Nomads Group in 1997, a not for profit organization that delivers live, in-classroom, interactive video content on a range of subjects (e.g., war, AIDS, environment) via remote satellite broadcasting. Jonathan served as the Chairman of the Board and Executive Director between 1997-2003 and currently is Vice-Chairman of GNG’s Board of Directors. Jonathan co-established a socially responsible not-for-profit from the ground up to a leadership position in international, cross-cultural education broadcasting.
"Jonathan and his team were the 2005 winners of the Goldman Sachs International Communications Awards and the 2005 Platinum Award for Distance Learning from the United States Distance Learning Association.
"Jonathan served as Executive Producer and Associate Producers for two PBS specials (Project Voice and Voices From Iraq) and Executive Produced and Associate Produced a 26-minute documentary (Rwanda: Those Who Listen), which won Best Documentary at the 2006 Beverly Hills Film Festival. GNG has gained extensive media coverage via national spots on Good Morning America and the Today Show, news articles in nationally syndicated papers (e.g., New York Times, Christian Science Monitor, Los Angeles Times) and articles in smaller U.S. and international newspapers.
