Jordan is a Middle Eastern country bordering on Syria, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and Israel. Jordan is a small country with few natural resources, including having no oil. The government, an ally of the U.S., is a constitutional monarchy with the real power resting with the king (King Abdullah). Reporters Without Borders has said, "the government sets the tone for the main daily newspapers." [1]
