Biographical Information
Dr. Kapila Vatsyayan, a world-renowned scholar of Indian art and architecture and of classical Indian dance. In 2010 Vatsyayan held "the following positions (selected): Member Rajya Sabha (Upper House of Indian Parliament); Chairperson, IIC-Asia Project, India International Centre; Life Trustee and former President of the India International Centre. She is also Founding Director of the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts; former Secretary of the Department of Arts of the Government of India; and former Member of the UNESCO Executive Board."
