Karl Olav Fagerstrom was a psychologist who developed a widely used scale to measure nicotine dependence.
Biography
The Fagerstrom test is a test for nicotine dependence. Karl Olav Fagerstrom, of Sweden's Pharmacia AB, spoke to a U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Drug Abuse Advisory Committee for the company's nicotine nasal spray (July/August 1994 (DJ 8/1/94).
