Background

The coal terminal included the construction of one coal wharf to unload coal from ships of 8,000 DWT. The handling system, designed to unload coal at the rate of 840,000 tonnes/year, includes a continuous chain-bucket ship unloadr. The project was completed and commissioned in 2006, and is the property of the State Power Company of Indonesia (PT PLN Persero).

Labuhan Angin power station is 230 megawatts and began commercial operations in 2008. The plant is also owned by PLN.
