The former Lampang coal mine in Lampang Province, Thailand is owned by Banpu. According to its website the company closed the mine late in 2008 "due to depletion of their coal reserves" and that the mine is "now under rehabilitation stage."[1] The U.S. Geological Survey rtepoirted that in 2007 the total production of the Lampang coal mine and the Chiang Muan coal mine in Phayao Province was approximately 3.4 million tonnes.[2]
