Lanzhou-Chengdu Oil Pipeline is an oil pipeline in China.[1]

Location

The 880-kilometre (547-mi) pipeline starts at the Lanzhou terminal in Gansu province and ends at the Pengzhou terminal in Sichuan province. It runs through Gansu, Shaanxi and Sichuan provinces in China.[2][3] The pipeline traverses some of China's most challenging terrain, including the Qin Mountains.[2]

Background

The Lanzhou–Chengdu Pipeline is a crude oil pipeline in China, owned by China National Petroleum Corporation.[4]

The pipeline project was announced in 2007 and was approved in September 2010. Construction started in November 2010.[5] The pipeline was completed in March 2013.[4]

Capacity of the pipeline is 200,684 barrels per day, equal to 10 million tons per year.[6] It cost about US$527 million to build.[5]
