Laura Spanjian
{{#badges: ToxicSludge}} Laura Spanjian abruptly quit her job on April 9, 2010, with the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission and moved to Houston, Texas to work for the city as its Sustainability Director. [1] According to her website she was "a political activist and employee of the SFPUC who "moved to San Francisco in 1995 and for the past 15 years she has worked for civil rights, social justice, environmental stewardship and government efficiency. ... In 2004, Laura joined the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, where she manages 40 people and a $6 million dollar budget." [2]

Chez Sludge
The Food Rights Network released a major investigative report on July 9, 2010 titled: Chez Sludge: How the Sewage Sludge Industry Bedded Alice Waters. [3] It examines collusion between the Chez Panisse Foundation and the SFPUC based on an extensive open records investigation of the SFPUC internal files.
