Background
Lazaro Cardenas was a proposed LNG Terminal is in Michoacán, Mexico.[1]
In 2004, Spanish company, Repsol was awarded the land-use permit for the proposed LNG project at the port of Lazaro Cardenas. Repsol outbid Belgian company, Tractebel.[2] However, by 2005, the proposed project was scrapped due to Mexican-state owned utility CFE choosing to get it gas supply from the Manzanillo LNG Terminal further North, making the Lazaro Cardenas construction unfeasible.[3]
