Unit Retirements
In February 2019 plant owner MDU said the plant is scheduled for retirement in 2020. MDU’s plan to close the plant came just three years after the company installed US$16 million in pollution controls at the plant to comply with federal Mercury Air Toxics Standards (MATS). The costs were passed on to customers.[2]
