Background
Liberty LNG Terminal was a proposed LNG terminal in New Jersey, United States.[1] New Jersey Governor Chris Christie vetoed the proposal in 2011, citing risks to New Jersey's shoreline, tourism, and fishing and shellfish industries.[2] Liberty Natural Gas withdrew its applications to build the import terminal in 2015, saying they had withdrawn the application to avoid confusion when filing permits for a "substantially revised" project. Liberty Natural Gas said they would refile at a later date. [2] However, to date there is no indication that Liberty Natural Gas will in fact refile.
