Background

Long Beach LNG Terminal was a proposed LNG import terminal in California, United States.[1] In 2007, the Long Beach Board of Harbor Commissioners unanimously voted to end environmental review of the proposed project, effectively terminating the proposal.[2] Many public officials opposed the project due to safety concerns given project's proposed site was in a densely-populated waterfront area.
