Current expansion plans
The M.P. Power Generating Company currently have three coal-fired power station projects currently being built or planned. These are:[1]
- Shree Singaji Thermal Power Project Stage I is a 1320MW power station comprising 2 x 660MW units under construction in Dongalia in the District of Khandwa. The initial units are due for commissioning in December 2012 and March 2013.[2] Stage II of the project is the addition of another two 660MW units.[3]
- Satpura Thermal Power Station, the addition of two 250MW units to the existing power station at Sarni in the District of Betul. The units, referred to as Units 10 & 11, are due for commissioning in August 2012 and November 2012.[4]
- Dada Dhuniwale Thermal Power Project, a 1600MW power station comprising 2X800 MW units. The project is proposed to be built in Goradia in the District of Khandwa. The project is part way through the environmental assessment process.[5]
