Background

On its website Jain states it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Madhya Pradesh for the establishment of a 1,320 MW Thermal Power Plant in Madhya Pradesh. No location or proposed commissioning date is disclosed.[1]

The July 2011 Ministry of Coal list of applicants for coal allocations includes this project as item #208 and the location as Birhulee, Shahdol.[2]

However, as of 2014 the power station has not received environmental clearance, and may have been cancelled.
