The Mae Moh coal mine in the mountains of Lampang province in northern Thailand is owned and operated by Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT). The mine supplies 40,000 tonnes of lignite a day to the Mae Moh coal plant.[1] The U.S. Geological Survey reported that in 2007 the mine produced approximately 20 million tonnes of lignite. [2]
