The Mallavaram-Bhopal-Bhilwara Gas Pipeline is a proposed natural gas pipeline.

Location

The pipeline would run from Mallavaram to Bhilwara via Godavari, Waranagl, Karimnagar, Adilabad, Nagpur, Bhopal, Sehore, Indore and Chittorgarh and to Vijaipur via Bhopal.

Background

The pipeline would be owned and operated by GSPL India Transco Limited (GITL). The Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board authorized GITL to build the pipeline in July 2011. The pipeline was listed as "Under Construction" in a January 2018 report by the Petroleum Planning & Analysis Cell of the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas. In June 2019 GITL was granted an extension until March 2020 to finish construction of the pipeline by the Petroleum & Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB).

The pipeline would transport 27.8 billion cubic meters of gas per year from the D6 gas fields in Krishna Godavari basin on the east coast of Andhra Pradesh to Bhilwara, Rajasthan, crossing 27 districts in four states: Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan.
