Background

Mangalore LNG Terminal is an LNG terminal under development in Karnataka, India.[1]

Feasibility studies for the Mangalore LNG Terminal began in 2013 with plans for an initial receiving capacity of 2-3 mtpa, with an eventual capacity of 5 mtpa. The initial goal was to bring LNG to the area to replace the use of heavier fuels such as naphtha in industrial uses.[2]

As of March 2019 the project had not advanced and appears to be shelved.
