Biography
Dr. GoId is a Professor of the University of Florida Brain Institute, Departments of Neuroscience, Psychiatry, Community, Health & Family Medicine. He is a distinguished alumni and honors graduate of the University of Florida College of Medicine where he was an AOA and Faculty research Award Winner. Dr. Gold has written nearly 700 medical articles, chapters and abstracts in the journals for health professionals on a variety of psychiatric research subjects and authoring ten professional books including practice guidelines, ASAM core competencies, and medical textbooks for primary care professionals. His textbook series "Drugs of abuse: A Comprehensive Series for Clinicians" has been a mainstay in the training of addiction professionals and includes: Marijuana' (1989), "Alcohol" (1991), "Cocaine" (1993) and "Nicotine" (1995).
