On it's website the Midwest Social Forum bills itself as "an annual gathering of grassroots organizations, community activists, workers, educators, students, and others committed to making a better, more just world possible. It provides an open space for exchanging experiences and information, strengthening alliances and networks, and developing effective strategies for progressive social, economic, and political change."
The 2006 gathering will be held in Milwaukee, July 6-9, 2006, at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Student Union.
