The World Social Forum: Another World Is Possible!

Website: worldsocialforum.org redirecting to forumsocialmundial.org.br

WSF's charter of principles states that it is not an organization or a united front platform. It is an open meeting place for reflective thinking, democratic debate of ideas, formulation of proposals, free exchange of experiences and inter-linking for effective action, by groups and movements of civil society that are opposed to neo- liberalism and to domination of the world by capital and any form of imperialism, and are committed to building a society centered on the human person.[1]

Three World Social Forums have been held (annually) since 2001 in Porto Alegre, Brazil.

The sixth edition of the World Social Forum will be polycentric, which means that it will be decentralized, taking place in different parts of the world, in January 2006. Up to now, three cities will host the 6th WSF: Bamako (Mali-Africa), Caracas (Venezuela – Americas) and Karachi (Pakistan-Asia).
