Biographical Information

"Natalia Shapovalova is a researcher at FRIDE. Prior to joining FRIDE, she was a researcher at the International Centre for Policy Studies in Kiev, Ukraine (2005-8). She has an MA in European Public Affairs from Maastricht University, The Netherlands, an MA in International Relations from the Maria Curie Sklodowska University, Lublin, Poland, and a BA in Political Science from the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, Ukraine.

"Her research focuses mainly on Ukraine, Eastern Partnership, EU enlargement, Russia, and the Caucasus. Some of her latest publications include ‘Ukrainian democracy on hold?’ (with B. Járábik, FRIDE, June 2010), ‘The Ukrainian standard’ (with Balazs Járábik, New Europe, 14 February 2010); ‘Ukraine's revolution lives on’ (The Guardian, 9 February 2010); and ‘The EU's Eastern partnership: still-born?’ (FRIDE, May 2009)."
