Ningbo Port

The port is at the crossroad of the north-south shipping route and the waterway of the Yangtze River.
Background
In 2004, the cargo throughput of Ningbo Port was over 100 million tonnes for the first time. In 2005, the cargo throughput hit 268 million tonnes.[1] In 2013, cargo tonnage of Ningbo Port exceeded 496 million tonnes, ranking third on the Chinese mainland and fourth in the world.[2]
Ningbo Port is one of the main transshipment and storage bases of coal in east China. In 2013, the coal tonnage in Ningbo Port exceeded 79 million tonnes.[2]
