{{#badges:CoalSwarm}} The North Block Complex (NBC) coal mine are located outside the town of Belfast in Mpumalanga.

On its website Exxaro coal states that "NBC Coal consists of the Glisa and Strathrae coal mines and the Eerstelingsfontein and Belfast coal projects. NBC produces 3,3 Mtpa of thermal coal for the domestic markets. The mine employs 134 employees and 491 contractors and use open-pit strip mining methods with continuous rehabilitation. NBC has a reserve base of 43,8Mt and a resource base of 52,6Mt.[1] The mine owned by Exxaro Coal, a wholly owned subsidiary of the South African mining company Exxaro.[2]
