Project Details

Background

The project includes construction of a sour gas gathering pipeline, a condensate and water pipeline, and a compressor station. The project will extend to the capture area of Keyera’s recently approved Wapiti Gas Gathering and Processing Complex and provide critical infrastructure and services to producers developing the Montney Shale north of the Wapiti River.

In May of 2019, Keyera announced that they would expand the capacity of the pipeline by adding additional compression stations. Assuming timely receipt of all regulatory approvals and permits, the North Wapiti Pipeline System was expected to be completed in the second half of 2019, with the compression station expansion project completed by mid-2020. Construction of the pipeline was completed in September 2019 and it was reportedly operating as of November 2019.
