{{#badges: ToxicSludge}} The Northwest Biosolids Management Association (NBMA) is an organization dedicated to the promotion of sewage sludge as fertilizer.[1] NBMA was founded as a non-profit in 1993. Its members are mostly cities in Washington State, but it also includes members in Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, and British Columbia.

Involvement in San Francisco Sludge Controversy
In March 2010, NBMA sent a letter of support to the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission in favor of its sewage sludge compost giveaway program.[2] In their letter, they call sewage sludge "highly regulated, thoroughly researched, beneficial soil amendments."
