The Polaniec Power Station is a 1,575-megawatt coal-fired power station in Swietokrzyskie Voivodeship, Poland.

Ownership

The power station was owned by GDF SUEZ Energia Polska SA, now part of Engie. The plant was described by the company as "the fifth largest electricity plant in the country and the largest plant in south-eastern Poland." It consists of 8 coal-burning units with a generation capacity of 225 MW each. The units were commissioned between 1979 and 1983 as 200 MW each, and increased to 225 MW each after turbine modernization from 1992 and 1995. In 2011 Unit 8 was closed and replaced with a biomass-burning unit.

In December 2016 Engie sold the plant to Poland's state-run utility Enea for US $255 million.
