Port of Constanta

Location
The port is located on the western coast of the Black Sea, 179 nautical miles (332 km) from the Bosphorus Strait and 85 nm (157 km) from the Sulina Branch, through which the Danube river flows into the Black Sea.
Background
The port has two specialized terminals that operate iron ore, bauxite, coal and coke with 13 berths, a storage capacity of 4.7 million tonnes and annual traffic capacity of around 27 million tonnes.[2] Comvex, which operates the port's largest bulk raw material handling terminal, has recently shifted its focus to grain in response to weaker demand for handling coal and other minerals.[3]
In May 2015 the port was acquired by Archer Daniels Midland.[1]
