Background

The port has a throughput capacity of 13 million tonnes, and exports to UK, Germany, and Israel. In terms of production capacity, the port is the second largest among the ports of CIS and Baltic countries handling coal. In 2010 the Port trans-shiped about 9.5 million tonnes of coal.[1]
