Location
The map below shows Kuala Cenaku in Riau province. The terminal is located at Kuala Cenaku along the Indragiri Hulu River.
Background
In July 2014 it was reported that Indonesia planned to build 14 dedicated coal terminals on the islands of Kalimantan and Sumatra in a bid to curb illegal coal exports. One of the proposed locations was Riau. However the government was finding it difficult to obtain private funding for the terminals in the current environment of depressed coal prices.[1]
In 2017, BlackGold Natural Resources Limited said it had completed a jetty at Kuala Cenaku, in Riau province, Indonesia. The jetty will serve the delivery of coal produced from the Group's mining concessions. The jetty has a loading capacity of 3.6 million tonnes of coal per annum and a stockpiling capacity of approximately 45,000 - 55,000 tonnes of coal. The Group, through its local subsidiaries, has the rights to three coal concessions in Riau, Indonesia.[2]
