Background

The port handled 7 million tonnes of dry bulk cargo in 2017. The coal terminal has a capacity of 240,000 tonnes of hard coal. A daily volume of up to 20,000 tonnes of coal can be discharged at berths 23 and 24. Conveyor belts supply the neighboring 553 MW Rostock power station, as well as additional recipients.[2]
