He said that as soon as Edwin Jacob, who ran the Council for Tobacco Research/Special Projects division, funded a scientific study, it was privileged and couldn't be used in court.(Wall Street Journal, 2/11/93). Roy E. Morse served as Vice President of Research and Development and on the Board of Directors in 1980, as Senior Vice President in 1982, Member of the Board of Directors of the Council for Tobacco Research prior to 1984, and as Senior Scientific Advisor in 1985.(Source: R.J.
