Background
The project was sponsored by SPR Infrastructure India, part of the diversified SPR Group.[1] The project will be built in two phases, each having two 660 MW units.[2]
As of 2014, the project appears to have been abandoned, since it is not mentioned on the company website and there have been no applications for environmental permits.[3]
