Background

Shandong LNG Terminal is an LNG terminal in Shandong, China.[1]

Completed in late 2014, the Shandong LNG terminal was initially constructed with three 160,000 cubic meter storage tanks and a receiving capacity of 3 mpta and distribution was planned for residential customers.[2]

Expansion Background

Phase II planned expansion could increase capacity to 5-6 mpta.[3] In August 2018 Sinopec received approval from the Shandong provincial government for a 2.3 billion yuan ($337 million) expansion that would increase the terminal's capacity to 7 mtpa, with an estimated completion date of 2021.[4]

The second phase of this LNG got permitted and began construction in Oct 2018. The capacity of the two phases will reach 7 mtpa after the second phase completed.[5]
