Background

TPP Sviloza is a 120 MW coal-fired plant with combined production of heat and electricity, built from 1965–1971 to cover the needs of the former Sviloza Chemical Works. Unit 1 was commissioned in 1971 and unit 2 in 1972.

The plant was converted to run on biomass in 2004.
